Book Tidbits

Alana Candler, Marked for Murder:

The plot from this book all started from this idea: What if a crime scene photographer photographed something she wasn’t supposed to see? This opened up a whole list of questions: Could it be something the murderer left behind? Was there a mysterious or revealing clue left at the scene? Was someone at the murder scene who shouldn’t be there? Read the book to find out. 🙂

Recipe for Alana’s white icing:

Snow White Icing:

4 Tbsp plain flour

1 cup milk

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup shortening

2 Teas. vanilla

Combine flour and milk in a medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat until it makes a creamy sauce (like gravy but not pasty) Let it cool

Beat the butter, Crisco, sugar, and vanilla on high for four minutes. Add this mixture to the cooled flour and milk sauce until it is smooth and creamy.

Spread it on the chocolate cake and enjoy!

Heat a thin layer of Olive Oil in skillet.

Dredge chicken in flour mixture, and shake off excess.

Dip chicken in egg and let the excess drip off.
